career fair

Each semester we host a Career Fair for H. Milton's School of Industrial and Systems Engineering which has been #1 in the nation for 25 consecutive years. This past Spring 2017, the IISE Career Fair had 45 companies, many of which are Fortune 500 companies, and had over 1300 students in attendance. Companies in attendance included Capital One, Coke, UPS and Home Depot.

company information sessions

Every semester, IISE hosts about ten information sessions featuring different companies.  These events give students an opportunity to connect with professionals and get an inside glimpse of the company.  Most information sessions are held during the evening with food and drinks being provided. In order to see when these events our scheduled, please take a look at our calender.

career fair prep week

A week leading up to our career fair, we offer various workshops to get both you and your resume in shape. These are hosted both by companies that will be participating in the fair, and the IISE executive board. They are both a great way to get yourself ready for the career fair and network with both company officials and other students.

six sigma/lean certification

We offer green belt certifications in both Six Sigma and Lean each semester. Six Sigma will help you hone your statistic skills, and focuses on preventing defects through problem solving. Lean on the other hand focuses on waste reduction by streamlining a process. Both will benefit you throughout your career.

technical workshops

As a member of IISE, you would have access to the various technical workshops we hold each semester. Each workshop will teach you a technical skill, such as Excel and Tableau, that is very high in-demand in the professional world, as well as very applicable to your studies. Having these technical skills is a must have for your resume and will help you stand out when applying for internships and jobs.

networking events

Want to get to know your professors and professionals in your career path better? Then join us for the multiple networking events we hold each semester. These range from dinners with professors to company-sponsored events, and allow students to connect with individuals in their future career paths. These are a great way to further your interests and to create opportunities for yourself.

IISE members can attend the Southeast Regional Conference at the end of February and IISE National Conference at the end of May each year. This event offers ISyE students a lot of opportunities to learn about Industrial Engineering and expand their network. This year, we will be hosting the Southeast Regional Conference. If you are interested in being apart of the team working on this event, please email Vooha Vallenki (, our Regional Conference Planner.

spring picnic

Hosted every spring, the IISE Spring Picnic is a good chance for ISyE students meet one another and have fun. There is always free food, giveaways, games and other activities. It is one of our biggest events, and our members get special perks for stopping by.

plant tours

Plant tours are a good opportunity for students to learn how a hands-on manufacturing plant works and where industrial engineering is applied. Past plants visited include Kroger and GE. For more information, please pay attention to our weekly newsletter and become one of our members.

Socials are great opportunities to meet your peers in a non-academic setting. These events allow students to mingle and form bonds that they would otherwise not have. Meeting other students with similar interests can open up doors for when you have to take Senior Design, or if you interested in competing in Hack-a-thons, or creating a start up, and much more. Not only that, but the bonds you make with your fellow peers can last a lifetime.

Every semester, we give away multiple awards to students who excel within the Industrial Engineering School and are members of IISE. These awards are a great way to be recognized for your hard work, as well as alleviate some of the financial burden that comes along with college. We love using this opportunity to give back to ISyE students.
