Daniel Baller | President

Daniel is a first-year Master’s student in the Operations Research program at Georgia Tech. Daniel also currently serves as an Officer in the US Army. Prior to graduate school, Daniel spent eight years serving as an intelligence officer including assignments in Texas, Arizona, and  Georgia. Additionally, Daniel deployed to Iraq in 2010 in support of Operations OIF 9-11 and New Dawn, and spent the last four years serving in the Republic of Korea. Daniel graduated from The United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor’s of Science in Operations Research with Honors in 2008.  Daniel enjoys playing sports, traveling, live music and hiking.

 

Sutchaya (Aya) Lertburapa | Vice President

Aya is pursuing a Master's Degree in Supply Chain Engineering at Georgia Tech. She graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013, and has worked as a Development Engineer for Foxconn, Hon Hai Precision Industry in Silicon Valley for over 2 years. Before joining Georgia Tech in 2016, Aya was at University of Salamanca, Spain,  learning Spanish and traveling for a semester. Besides Spanish, she also speaks Thai, Mandarin, and Minnan. Prior to her current role, Aya served on the Professional Development Committee and she was in charge of Mock Interview sessions. Aya enjoys swimming, hiking, and playing the flute.

 

 

Haozheng Jiang | Director of Professional Development

Haozheng Jiang is currently pursing a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech. She had a Bachelor of Engineering in Bio-systems Engineering from Zhejiang University, China and spent a summer learning abroad in University of Illinois at Urbana and Champaign. She is highly active at various professional organizations, including IISE, APICS, Techmaster, Student Alumni Association, and Lean In at Georgia Tech. Prior to her current role, she served on the Social Events Committee, where she was in charge of social events and soft skills development. She loves Go, crossfit and traveling.

 

Lingxiao Chen | Director of Administration

Lingxiao Chen is a first year Masters student in Industrial Engineering. She is from China and has an undergraduate degree in Applied mathematics. During her undergraduate years, Lingxiao has done research in genetic algorithm to achieve geometric primitive extraction and has gained the Meritorious Winner of Mathematical Contest in Modeling in 2015. Prior to her role as Director of Administration, she served on the Peasant Rural and Agriculture Association at the university. Besides school, she loves reading books, watching movies and playing table tennis.

 

Sisi Zhu | Director of Social Events

Sisi is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Supply Chain Engineering. She is originally from Beijing and grew up in Italy, Rome. She speaks 4 languages and has a bachelor degree in Industrial and Management engineering from University of Rome, Tor Vergata. She had various experiences in different fields such as Sales, Market development, Communications, Warehousing etc. Her main task on the executive board is to organize recreational and networking events for future industrial engineers in order to strengthen the relationships and to create relaxing moment among the dynamic weekdays. Beside school, she loves Latino dance, movies and art.

 

Steven Gao | Director of Fundraising

Steven is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Engineering at Georgia Tech. Prior to graduate school, Steven received his Dual Bachelors’ degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from University of Utah. He spent his last 5 years in his undergraduate school conducting biomedical related research including investigating the mechanism lead to heart failure, localizing breast tumor using signal processing techniques and simulating micro magnetometers for brain imaging. Prior to his current leadership role, Steven was the treasurer for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) University of Utah branch where he was responsible for reimbursement and budget planning. Steven enjoys playing soccer and chatting with friends.

 

Junia Findlay | Director of Program Outreach

Junia is currently pursuing a Master’s in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech. He has a bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Junia is a GEM fellow, Gates Millennium Scholar, and a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Prior to joining the yellow jacket family Junia worked full time as a Field Service Engineer for Eaton Corporation. Prior to joining the IISE Graduate Exec Board Junia held various leadership roles: Public Relations Chair, Technology Chair, Treasurer and District Meeting Chair. His interest includes: powerlifting, cooking, entrepreneurship, and dancing.
